Online education degrees and all that?

Im thinking of going for a MS in Enviro. engineering. Im going to be in the Coast Guard and due to a crazy schedule Im limited by a lot of things so an online degree is a main option at this point so my question is that are online degrees, more specifically in the engineering field, actually worth getting and how are they viewed in the workforce and would it be worth doing thinking about?

OCS boards tend to care more about the BS than the MS. If your BS was from a strong school, that’ll help. An MS is nice, and the fact that it is in engineering helps even more…..but don’t get too wrapped up over where the MS is from. If you were talkng about a BS, my answer would be different……

The above answer assumes you want to be an officer. If you want to enlist, it matters not at all.

    Good luck.
